Movember 2014
Thankyou to those individuals, for your kind donated to the cause of ‘men’s health’ fundraiser – Movember. Our whole school movember where everybody Mo’d up raised $70, so currently my total is $270. There’s still time to add to the cause – just follow the link.
Student Reports
The end of year academic reports will be sent home on Monday 15th December. If you require a second copy please inform the teacher or Joy. This will assist us completing the reports before we finish the year.
Year 6 Secondary Transition
Reminder to parents. Your child is expected to attend their 2015 secondary school on Tuesday 9th December for the whole day. This is a very important day and one that will assist them transition to their new school more easily.
Spanish Program Update
We will be completing the selection process for the new 3/4-Spanish teacher this week. It is intended that both of the new teachers will visit the school before the end of the school year to meet with staff and students.
Spanish Posters
I would like to thank Sarah Dunk (Grace’s mum) for the fantastic Spanish posters she designed. They were up on Saturday to promote our 2015 program; more will be distributed to our local kinders and childcare centres as well as being part of an advertising campaign in 2015.

Election Day
As Victoria voted on Saturday a small group of Newlands volunteers got up early to fire up the BBQ and coffee machine, and set out the cakes. Thanks to their big efforts and long hours we made about $1300 towards our fundraising target.
Huge thanks to Adam who put the whole thing together. Thanks also to Marita and Shahid who put in many hours, and everyone else who contributed time on the day or in the lead up to the election. It was a great success.
