OOSHC Booking System
Next term we will be transitioning to a new booking system for our Before and After School Care program. As the program has become more popular our current booking process has become more difficult to manage. The system we will be using is very similar to the online system we use for the mid-year parent / teacher interviews. The process requires parents to visit the website and provide an email address and child/ren’s names. Once the details are on the system parents will be able to pre-book for all of Term 4, and by the end of this term also book for 2016. Another advantage for parents is the ability to cancel a booking and not pay for that booking as long as the cancellation is made before 2.00pm. We urge all families to register ASAP as we will not be taking telephone bookings for permanent or casual bookings. The only bookings we will accept by phone are for those parents with an emergency and need their child cared for safely.

End of Term Arrangements
School will finish at 1.30pm. What a perfect opportunity to use our new booking system! Please book early to avoid missing a place for that day.

Showcasing the School
Mulynda, Akash and I attended an evening organised by the Darebin Council to showcase our school to the wider community. It was a great opportunity to see what other schools had to offer, especially the secondary schools within the municipality. Thanks, Mulynda and Akash for attending and braving such terrible weather on the night.

2016 Enrolment Forms
If you haven’t completed the enrolment form for your beginning 2016 prep, please do ASAP.

Curriculum Day
Reminder; Monday 14th September students do not come to school. Teachers will be attending educational workshops.

Also for your diary:
Monday 2nd November will also be a curriculum day. This is the Monday before Melbourne Cup holiday.

NEWS & UPDATES
Library News
The school library has been a cheerful, crowded winter retreat for many students during Third Term. Donations from supportive friends of the library have continued to arrive. We’d especially like to acknowledge a large donation of books from Allen & Unwin publishers, including some beautiful picture books on Aboriginal history and culture. Smaller donations from supportive bookshops include gifts from Andrew’s Bookshop in Ivanhoe and the online bookseller The Kid’s Bookshop.
Overdue book notices were sent home yesterday. We would really appreciate books being returned before the end of term. If you believe a book is lost, please take the notice and payment (usually $10.00) to Joy in the office.
Paul Jennings’ books are much in demand at the moment. If you have any spare copies of Jennings’ books that you would like to donate to the school library, particularly the ‘Un’ series, they would be much appreciated.
