FROM THE ACTING PRINCIPAL
As you can see by the dates to remember list above, we have many things happening over the next few weeks.
Our foundation class for 2016 began their orientation last week. We certainly look forward to seeing them and their families again over the coming weeks. Please let anyone you know who is still thinking of enrolling next year to do so as soon as possible so that their child can be involved in the orientation program.
The Art Show was a great success. It was a success because of the quality of the students’ and school community members’ work, the amount of time and the level of commitment given by Bianca V., the parents who helped set the art show up and then take it down, the parents who helped with the catering on the night, all staff who stayed at school to assist Bianca and lastly everyone who came to enjoy what was on display.
Our whole school community should all be proud of what was achieved on the night.
We will be running and iPad information session on Tuesday the 17th of November at 2:45 p.m. for parents of students in our 2015 Foundation class and any other parents who wish to lease or purchase an iPad for their child in 2016. Matt Atkins, our technician will be at this session to help answer any questions you may have. There is an iPad expression of interest form attached to this newsletter. It can be returned to the office anytime before Friday 27th of November.
Ross will return to school next week. We look forward to hearing about all that he saw and did whilst he was away. That means that I have to vacate his chair. It certainly has been a busy six weeks and we have done and achieved so much. I have enjoyed the experience of being acting principal. I would like to thank everyone who has assisted me during this time. A special mention to Joy and Angela for the support they have given me.
NEWS & UPDATES

Performance at Peppertree Place
On Saturday the 7th of November our school performance group performed at the Peppertree Place Garden Fiesta. Thank you to Graeme and the parents and students who made this fantastic experience possible.
Grade 5/6 visit to NCAT
On Thursday the grade 5/ 6 class visited the Northern College of The Arts and Technology (NCAT) in Preston which is located next door to Northland Shopping Centre. We had an amazing tour of the school by our friendly hosts, the Year 10 students. The facilities at NCAT are extremely impressive and we really enjoyed seeing the music / recording facilities, photography department, dance studios, visual art rooms, woodwork workshops, auto shop department and where they make guitars and ukuleles. After the tour, the students participated in a music workshop run by the Year 10 students. More information about NCAT is available on their website.
